If you would like to join the Oberlin Writers' Group, you're welcome to come check us out first. You do not need to contact us beforehand--just head on down to the Oberlin Public Library on a Wednesday at 6:00 PM and pull up a chair.
If you are working on a project or have some samples of your writing you'd like to share, please feel free bring it with you. Although it varies each week, on a typical day each writer will get somewhere around 20-30 minutes of the group's attention--say 10 or 15 minutes of reading time and another 10 of feedback and discussion.
A lot of the writers find it helpful to bring several copies of their writing piece to pass around to the group, but you are absolutely not required to do so. We're a relaxed group with wildly different writing styles and wide array of projects in varying states of completion. Some bring in one or more poems and some members are working on novels or other longer works and only bring in a few pages at a time.
